Soundbeam helps you see what everyday sounds look like and visualizes sounds you cant even hear!

Plug in your electric guitar, a mic or any other (hi-Z) device to your mini-jack input and get accurate measurements. You can always use the built-in mic.

We paired stylish controls and an old-school interface with high precision signal processing algorithms, creating a new way to experience sound.

Soundbeam is an real-time audio analyzer (RTA) that processes the input of your microphone displaying it like a classic oscilloscope. It also features a spectral visualization of the audio using high resolution fourier transform (FFT) for accurate measurements.

Get a dose of nostalgia with Soundbeam now!

Key Features:

* Spectrum and waveform views
* Recording functionality

Pros and cons of Soundbeam app for iPhone and iPad

Soundbeam app good for

Absolutely LOVE Soundbeam and especially appreciate the ability to record and save audio + video. My two requests are: enable longer recordings (IAP for this function would be welcome and purchased immediately) and (far less important) the ability to adjust background color from the default aqua-green. Regardless Soundbeam is awesome as-is.
This tiny app is a very handy and easy-to-use spectrum analyzer. Great for quickly visualizing any sounds in your vicinity. Like showing your students some frequencies or setting up your school bands PA or just for playing around a bit in front of gazing colleagues. Thanks to the Software engineers!
Works, looks awesome. Make it for iPad and it gets even more awesome!!
Covers the bases, looks good doing it. Keep up the good work.
This app is very entertaining And I like that you can change from spectrum mode to an other mode and switch on and off other options!
It is the most perfect RTL with the perfect functions! Screenshot Frequency zoom in Easy reset Everything is perfect Now i dont nees anything else for RTL I have met my perfect tool

Some bad moments

Getting a bit tired of apps that have been updated *after* iOS 6 came out and *after* iPhone 5 that still dont support the new screen size.
Should be able to make background black so the screen only shows the wave.
This app works well would suggest it if you are looking for an audio oscilloscope. Works well with iPad. Tested it side by side with an iPhone and both were responding exactly the same! Hoping to get an iPad specific version, possibly with more bells and whistles. I like the app very much
Very handy for getting a quick spectrum analysis, or just looking at a wave form. The developer has made this look fantastic -- the attention to detail and artwork are great. Highly recommended for anyone who might need a basic oscilloscope (and who doesnt?).
Apart from its use as an o-scope, this app really shows what a quality iOS product should look like.
Can the developer add a record feature to it where you obviously record something, And then record again and see a percent on how well the two sounds matched?
